Promotions at Hamilton + Aitken

H+A welcomed two new associates this week, and named Thomas Lawrence AIA as senior associate. Xavier Houston and Edward To were each named associates of the firm, acknowledging their leadership over the past years. Both Xavier and Edward were key members of our design team on the SFO Terminal 3 projects – Edward has recently been leading the James Lick Middle School Modernization through construction, and Xavier has been designing additional projects with the San Francisco International Airport, including a renovation of two holding rooms at the International Terminal.

Thomas has contributed by leading several complex projects, including the Hilltop High School modernization and the team working on SFO T3. Currently he is serving as project architect for Burlingame Intermediate School, a new classroom building that completes an area of Burlingame’s large middle school campus.

SFO T3 Published in The Registry

SFO Terminal 3 was reviewed in The Registry, which noted how the design of T3 built on the lessons learned from the earlier project for the renovation of Terminal 2, which has also received high praise. Both projects were designed to meet the San Francisco International Airport's goal of enhancing the passenger experience, and after flying out of both T2 and the recently completed T3 Boarding Area E, I can say this has been very successful.
